Memory Strangers A series of portraits made with relief ink by repetitive marks from a brayer and sponge on Thai Kozo paper. The paintings were hung in the hallway using wood clamps for the viewers to walk under.
This project was made to challenge my memory and imagination. I intentionally chose the color blue to keep a monochromatic color palette to symbolize the theme of memory. Each painting was made without reference to creatively solve how to make a portrait out of non-objective initial marks that make up the background. |

Winning Minaret Wine Stopper Design for the Minaret Society Dinner at The University of Tampa
This project was created using Adobe Illustrator and a laser cutter. Each round wooden piece was glued and layered together assembled onto a screw on top of the wine stopper bottom. 300 wine stoppers were given out to guests as a take away at the Minaret society dinner in November of 2019. Attached images below include quick sketch book pages/notes after our design brief from the event coordinator for the design process, final product and article written about the event with mentioned product. |
Letter Illustration Project
This is an on going project that I started it in late July 2022. I wanted to explore children's book illustration and typography. My rule for the design of the letter is to create a structure or a functional object for the character. I experiment with digital and traditional art so I can learn procreate and watercolor styles in a fun and educational way.

Squish This project, Squish, is a series of Non-traditional portraits pushing and pulling on the face. I was inspired by the warm and cool palette we had been working with in my figure painting class which I carried through into this series to keep the shadows warm colors and highlights cooler colors.
This project took place right after Covid- 19 had just begun in 2020, which kept me and other students from going back to school forcing us to do class virtually. The squishing of the face was a reflection of my feelings at the time which ranged from boredom, stress, concern and sadness from feeling disconnected while stuck at home due to the world wide virus. |

Note to Self A cyanotype project inspired by the classic saying my parents would say to me growing up when I did not know my way or did not feel confident.
"You know more than you think" I experimented by hand writing the words on a transparent sheet and laying it out in the sun to expose them in different arrangements. |

Arranging Chaos |
|
My thoughts are
c h a o t i c, loud, & never ending. The series Arranging Chaos is a visual representation documenting the stream of conscious and unconscious thoughts that can occur in internal monologues. The inspiration for this work is drawn from everyday life, dreams and imagination to produce line drawings and paintings that create their own narratives to become reflections of this inner experience. Starting non-objectively, quickly putting marks in space allows the unconscious thought to lay the foundation to a spontaneous composition. With line and marks balancing between blind contour, abstraction, and reality, I respond to these ambiguous forms as they unfold indirectly on the page. Through using my subconscious as a tool for reference I invite viewers to complete the illustrations through connections to the work based on their own inner thought, feeling and memory. Arranging Chaos ultimately illustrates the spontaneous thinking that occurs throughout the day and how our thoughts flow into a network of new thoughts. |

Memento |
|
Humans are not
Immortal. Memento is an ongoing anthotype series of photographs of my immediate family. The emulsion is made from blueberries which will continue to expose over time since no fixative is added. This represents the natural impermanence of our lives. To keep these as a reminder of my family and for posterity I have taken photographs of them since the prints will fade over time. I want to continue this series with the addition of new generations |
